70 years of machine tools
From 13 to 16 October 2026, at fieramilano Rho, the 35th edition of BI-MU will take place, the leading Italian exhibition dedicated to the machine tool manufacturing industry for metal cutting and forming, robotics, automation, digital and additive manufacturing, and auxiliary and enabling technologies.
The only international-level exhibition of its kind in Italy, and the first to embrace industrial connectivity, BI-MU once again updates its offering to meet market demands, presenting a special edition celebrating a 70-year history.
The organization of this exhibition has never been interrupted in its 70 years of activity, making BI-MU the benchmark event for manufacturing industry professionals, who explore the production technology on display to plan their investments.
The exhibition will showcase the latest-generation machines and technologies, digitalized and interconnected, integrating Industry 4.0 solutions and automation systems capable of enabling typical digital factory processes.
In addition to standalone machines, both for material removal and forming, significant space will be given to complex systems based on functional modularity, which can be adapted to production changes much more easily and quickly than traditional machining units.
Alongside machine tools and production systems, particular visibility will be given to: robots, additive manufacturing, digital manufacturing, metrology systems, power transmission systems, surface heat treatments, and tooling, identified as the seven technological themes of this edition.
The exhibition offering will be completed by an overview of Revamping & Retrofitting, which will present a selection of properly refurbished machines and systems equipped with new features in response to the needs of a market that complements the “new” equipment sector.
Promoted by UCIMU–SISTEMI PER PRODURRE, the association of Italian manufacturers of machine tools, robots, and automation systems, and organized by EFIM–ENTE FIERE ITALIANE MACCHINE, 35.BI-MU is a sustainable event, managed and organized according to environmental, economic, and social sustainability principles, certified ICIM ISO 20121.
