Complete bottling lines & packaging systems
SMI is specialized in the design, manufacturing and installation of complete bottling lines and packaging systems for flat and carbonated beverages and liquid products in PET, rPET and PP containers from 0.10 to 10 L, with output capacity up to 50,000 bottles/hour (according to machine models and type of container).
Every line engineering solution proposed by SMI is the outcome of a preliminary study of the bottling & packaging project, during which accurate analysis of product accumulation, distribution and conveyance dynamics are carried out in order to ensure a smooth and constant production flow and the maximum operational flexibility of the machines installed.
An advanced automation and control system compliant with Industry 4.0 technology and sophisticated sensors distributed all along the bottling line (IoT architecture) enable to achieve high machine yields in all of the steps of the manufacturing process; furthermore, highly-automated equipment allow optimizing the employment of raw materials, work force and energy resources thus improving the environmental and social compatibility of the solutions proposed.
Increasing the production thanks to the supervision systems!
Within the automation and control solutions of the production line, SMI has developed the SWM Supervisor. Based on an open and flexible modular enterprise web portal, the SWM Supervisor fits every application field in order to meet all requirements concerning data collection and supervision. The aim is to identify the main downtime causes of the bottling and packaging line, improve the overall efficiency and reduce the time for the maintenance and changeover operations.
This solution designed by SMI is able to remotely receive the list of the production orders to carry out, from which the SWM draws the procedures to set on the machine for the advancement of the production. Furthermore, thanks to the supervisor, it is possible to know the procedures chronology adopted and get important information about the quantity of products realized or discarded.
The aggregation and transmission of the information gathered are easy managed and transmitted via web for the instant sharing, systems and other IT applications, both on internet and intranet in order to ensure the live monitoring of the machine performances.
