Protec manufactures a leading edge sorting line for grapes intended for the production of wine, with two families of machines.
ROLL-FEEDER
Roll Feeder is a simple but very eective system which separates small sized items from the grapes destined for treading.
Using a line of uniquely shape rollers positioned transversely, the sizer gently carries the de-stemmed grapes to the sorter.
While the berries are evenly distributed and transported in a single layer, as required by the conveyor belt of the optical sorter, smaller sized bodies, such as twigs, seeds and peel, fall into the hoppers below.
A mesh lter separates the solids from the must which can thus be recovered.
The Roll Feeder is constructed in dierent working widths from 500 mm to 1.5 m with production capacities of up to 15 tonnes per hour.
X-Tri
The XTri sorter is designed to separate out from the winema-king grapes anything that might alter the quality of the end product. Xtri uses a dual camera system, using techniques up to now used only in specialised research laboratories.
The main vision system uses the principle, a world rst for applications of this kind, of uorescence to identify products that contain chlorophyll.
By means of this technique green, or even merely immature grapes, leaves and grass are identied and expelled.
The second system uses infrared light to detect both organic and inorganic foreign bodies, such as small creatures and insects, branches, wood and plastics which may remain as a residue from the harvest.
For the most discerning palates, and for an excellent quality of red wine, you can install a third vision system dedicated to removing the pink grapes.
The Xtri sorter is commonly installed in wineries where the produce is received after the grapes have been de-stemmed.
Xtri is available in dierent sizes for red or white grapes and can process up to 15 tonnes of produce per hour.
