Clevertech is a family-run company with a turnover exceeding 150 million USD. The headquarters are in Italy, and there are additional production sites in China, India, and North America. The company boasts a global infrastructure of local after-sales service.
Clevertech Group has been present in the USA since the early 2010s, with an established production site in Ft. Myers, FL. This site encompasses over 30,000 sqft. dedicated to assembly, spare parts storage, and a service support center.
Clevertech designs and installs approximately 50 million USD worth of new equipment annually in North America, providing comprehensive project management services, local technical support, turnkey project installation, training, and Dynamic Lifecycle Service post-commissioning. The U.S. food market is segmented into various types of primary and secondary packaging.
Clevertech supports major FMCG producers by supplying state-of-theart equipment and automation for handling flexible materials (such as snacks or smoothies) and rigid materials (such as cans, bottles, and jars for canned food, sauces, and jams) for primary packaging. Additionally, Clevertech offers solutions for handling a wide variety of secondary packaging, including cartons, trays, ready-to-display packages, and large-size bags.
Clevertech adds value at three critical points in an FMCG production line:
1. Front of the line: Depalletizing systems for any kind of containers, designed to minimize changeover time between batches, reduce the number of empty containers in the line, and minimize the need for manual operators.
2. Center of the line: Basket loader and unloader systems that connect to autoclaves for thermal treatment, closely monitor process times, activate quality timers, and ensure only properly treated food packages proceed to secondary packaging.
3. End of the line: Best-in-class palletization systems equipped with various preformation methods using axis and robotic systems for any speed, along with product stabilization through film stretch wrapping in pallet or pallet-less configurations.
Clevertech’s equipment for the food industry is highly valued for its high performance, durability, and hygienic design, following strict TPM approaches and using the PACK ML programming protocol to continuously monitor OEE.
An additional advantage is the integration of data management and product tracking along the entire production.
Clevertech’s Integra protocol communicates seamlessly with ERP systems such as Oracle and SAP, facilitating product data tracking from depalletizing through loading, unloading, and palletizing to the final drop point at logistics.
The back-end systems are developed by Clevertech’s software team in various programming languages, including C, C# .NET, Java, and Python, with front-end data transmission in JavaScript, Windows Forms, and HTML/CSS.
Currently, Clevertech is engaged in several installations across North America within the food industry. These include an end-of-line system with five palletizers connected to a common stretch wrapper for confectionary products, and multiple canned food lines operating at speeds up to 1,300 cans per minute, involving both can body and lid manufacturing.
In Italy, there are Factory Acceptance Tests underway for a palletization system for ketchup and mayonnaise in plastic bottles, designed for speeds of 300 bottles per minute.
Recently, Clevertech secured a new order for an end-of-line system that includes palletization and AGV handling for finished good pallets to the warehouse. Stay updated with Clevertech news by following their social profiles on LinkedIn, visiting their website, or subscribing to their newsletter.
